Yesterday I paid a quick visit at Minde Motorsykkel, owned by Arthur, my Suzuki guru. He is doing some winter work on my GSX since riding season is over for the next months, and because I like the environment of a bike shop, I took my camera and he allowed me to shoot. He is kind of shy, but next time I will capture him on his craft.
Not too many know about Suzuki mechanics like this guy, but the key difference is the passion. It is not just his work, it is his way of life, so it is just natural I trust my equipment to him. Going to the shop to bother the guy in a cold saturday morning is also a nice program.
As you might think, it is not the BRAND_HERE Authorized Dealer type of workplace, you will find some rusty old bikes here and there (in fact quite a few), some nice pieces of history that one might not even imagine exists and will never be seen in an authorized dealer.
The shots were improvised, I didn't use the right equipment, so it is what it is. Click to enlarge.
And Arthur's main bike, a mint Suzuki GSXR 1100 from 1991, in showroom condition. There is not much to say about this bike other than it is an exceptional piece of Japanese art. Not too many sportsbikes are, or were, so carefully made as these GSXR. There is nothing cheap on it. You can see the quality of the materials, the bike is solid and lightweight, with the enormous 1100cc engine that makes you lazy to drive. As soon as you change to 2nd gear, you will not need anything else to the point of losing your license.
